Boy Grows Out His Hair for 2 Years to Donate to Kids With Cancer

At the age of almost four, Elijah Edney has never had a haircut in  his life.
But now he can’t wait to visit the barber’s – for two reasons. Losing his 2ft long golden tresses will mean that strangers stop mistaking him for a girl.

And the hair will be donated to charity, to provide a wig for a child with cancer or other conditions.

Elijah Edney needs to raise £350 for his hair to be turned into a wig for children with cancer. He has never had his hair cut but decided to take his first trip to the barbers because he is mistaken for a girl.

Mrs Edney and her husband Dean, from Buckland, Hampshire, will give their son’s locks to the Little Princess Trust, which helps youngsters suffering from hair loss.
Elijah, who has a six-year-old brother, Beau, is looking forward to having a spiky, two-inch crop.
Mrs Edney, a dinner lady, said: ‘Elijah has always had beautiful hair, so I let him grow it like he wanted. It’s like silk.
‘But now it is at a stage where people mistake him for a girl and he wants it cut into a boy’s haircut.
‘He will be four next month but everyone thinks he is a girl and he’s started to get frustrated.
Elijah’s shorn hair will go to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children with cancer and other hair-loss illnesses.
Mrs Edney and Elijah’s father, Dean Edney, want to collect enough money – £350 – to transform it into a wig for a sick child.
Mrs Edney said: ‘I couldn’t bear to see all Elijah’s beautiful hair go to waste and my mum mentioned about charities that use human hair to make into wigs.

How to Take the Frizz Out of a Synthetic Curly Wig

Synthetic wigs come in handy in a number of instances. An essential reason many people choose to use synthetic wigs is that they are much more affordable than natural fiber wigs. Unfortunately, synthetic material tends to tangle and frizz up much more easily than real hair does, which means a bit more care and attention in between uses. Curly wigs are particularly prone to frizzing out after a bout of heavy use. Some practical solutions can help gently calm and manage synthetic fibers on a regular basis.Curly Synthetic Wig from uniwigs.comStep 1

Comb through any tough knots or tangles very gently using a wig comb or pick. Be sure to use short, gentle motions on the wig as you detangle and avoid tugging roughly on the hairs.

Step 2

Fill a basin or sink with cold water and add about a tablespoon of wig shampoo to the water. This type of shampoo is gentle and will not stress the wig fibers like a regular shampoo might.

Step 3

Place the wig into the cold water and shampoo mixture and swish around gently to allow the shampoo to get into all the fibers. Allow the wig to sit in the water for about five minutes.

Step 4

Remove the wig from the water and rinse off with plain, cold water until all of the wig shampoo is washed out.

Step 5

Lay the curly wig on top of an absorbent towel with the bottom of the wig facing toward the towel and the curls laid out flat so that they have space to breath. Avoid brushing the wig while it is wet.

Step 6

Spritz a synthetic wig conditioner over all the curls while they are still damp. Hold the bottle about a foot away from the actual fibers. This product will encourage a frizz-free final hair piece.

Step 7

Allow the wig to dry completely. Remove the hair piece from the towel and shake the curls gently to encourage them to loosen and move.

Step 8

Comb through the curls very gently using a wig comb or pick. Comb each curl separately, if possible, and gently twist the curls using your fingers until the hair piece is smoothed out.

How to Straighten a Synthetic Wig

When you need to straighten a synthetic wig for a big event, you can’t rely on a flat-iron to do the job. Instead, use one of these two quick methods that will safely transform your wig into a sleek, fashionable look without melting the fibers.
Method 1 of 3: Prepare the Wig

1.Pin your wig to a wig head around the elastic (at the temples, top of the wig and nape of the neck) to secure it.

2. Put the wig head atop a secure stand so the fibers can hang loosely. A camera tripod will allow you to turn the head 360 degrees.

3.Detangle your wig with a flat brush to soften the curls. Don’t pull or you may stretch out the cap

Method 2 of 3: Steam Method for Gentle Straightening

1.Put the wig stand in a bathroom.

2.Run hot water in the bathtub or shower until the room is steamy.

3. Begin brushing the wig gently with a wide
toothed flat comb to loosen the curls.

4. Don’t stay too long-when condensation begins to build remove the wig from the room.
Method 3 of 3: Hairdryer Method for Extreme Straightening

1. After brushing the wig, gather all the hair except the bottom section, which lies directly over your neck, and pin up.

2.Spray the wig section with water to keep the fibers from overheating.

3.Pick up a piece of the wig section with a flat brush to separate the fibers.

4.Set the heat setting on the hairdryer to warm.

5.Move the brush and hairdryer downwards at the same time.Repeat, working upwards by section.

6.Repeat, working upwards by section.

KELLY ROWLAND ROCKS HER NATURAL HAIR!

Kelly Rowland makes me smile every time I see her. From head-to toe, the girl just knows
how to work it for the camera, as her outfit, her makeup, and her hair are always 100% on point.I particularly love it when she rocks big bouncy curls.
The best part about Rowland’s look is that it rocks on absolutely everyone, no matter your natural texture, or how thin or thick, or long or short your locks are. Here’s how to get the look:
After cleansing and conditioning, dampen your hair with setting lotion.
Set small sections of your hair on perm rods. Choose your rod rollers wisely short rods are perfect for bangs and shorter lengths, mini rods help create the illusion of thicker hair, and large and jumbo rods are great for longer strands.
Sit under a hooded dryer for 30 to 45 minutes. If you don’t have access to one, tie a satin scarf over your head and use a hand held blowdryer instead. Make sure the hair is completely dry before removing your rods. If it isn’t, it’s likely to frizz, which you don’t want. For this look, curls should remain defined.
Gently rake through your new curls with your fingers, and shape it with your hands. Mist with holding spray to finish; your curls should last at least three days!
