Expert Tips for Your Wig Like a Pro

Wigs have become increasingly popular as a practical and versatile option for changing your hairstyle. Mastering the art of wig styling can greatly enhance your overall appearance, whether you use wigs for fashion, health reasons, or simply to experiment with different looks. With a few expert tips and techniques, you can style your wig like a pro, achieving natural-looking results that seamlessly blend with your own hair. The degree of naturalness and versatility will depend on the type of wig you have, such as lace front, full lace, or monofilament, as well as its construction, whether it’s hand-tied, or machine-made. It’s also important to choose a wig color that complements your skin tone and a texture (straight, wavy, or curly) that suits your desired look. By selecting a wig that matches your skin tone and face shape, you can achieve a cohesive and attractive appearance. Let’s explore the world of wig styling and discover how to achieve a professional look.

  1. Selecting the Right Wig

Choosing the appropriate wig is crucial for achieving a professional-looking style. Consider the following key aspects when selecting a wig:

a) Wig Type: Before delving into wig styling, it’s important to understand the different types and construction methods available. Wigs come in various types, including synthetic and human hair wigs. Synthetic wigs are affordable and low-maintenance, while human hair wigs offer a more natural look and greater styling versatility. Additionally, wigs can be constructed using different methods, such as machine-made, or hand-tied. Each construction method has unique characteristics, which will influence how you style and wear your wig. Familiarize yourself with the type and construction of your wig to ensure you style it appropriately. Choose between synthetic or human hair based on your preferences and budget.

b) Wig Cap Construction: When shopping for a wig, understanding the different cap constructions is essential for achieving a comfortable and natural-looking fit. The cap construction determines the overall comfort, breathability, and realism of the wig, especially in terms of the hairline. There are various cap constructions available, including lace front, full lace, and glueless lace, each with its own features and benefits. By familiarizing yourself with these options, you can choose the cap construction that best suits your needs and preferences.

c) Wig Color and Texture: Select a wig color and texture that complements your skin tone and desired hairstyle. Experiment with different shades and textures to find the perfect match. The color of your wig has a significant impact on your overall attractiveness. Consider your skin tone, eye color, and personal fashion sense when selecting the color. Choose hues that accentuate your features and blend naturally with your hairline. While experimenting with color can be enjoyable, it’s important to choose shades that complement your skin tone. If you’re unsure, seek the advice of a hairstylist or try on a few color samples.

d) Wigs Customization: To achieve a truly personalized look, consider customizing your wig. Consult a wig specialist or professional stylist who can assist you in trimming it to the length and style you choose. They can also help to thin the hair or add layers to give the appearance of greater naturalness. If you’re unsure about customization, seek professional guidance from UiWigs to ensure the best outcome.

2. Maintaining Your Wig

Before styling your hairpiece, it’s essential to properly prepare it to ensure optimal results. Follow these tips:

a) Detangling Your Wig: Proper detangling is crucial for maintaining the longevity and appearance of your wig. Use a wide-tooth comb or a brush specifically designed for wigs to gently remove tangles and knots. Start detangling from the ends and work your way up to the roots. Avoid using excessive force, as this can damage the fibers. For synthetic wigs, use a detangling spray or conditioner formulated for synthetic hair. For human hair wigs, use a lightweight, leave-in conditioner to facilitate the detangling process. Detangle your wig regularly to prevent matting and tangling.

b) Washing and Conditioning Your Wig: Regular washing is crucial for keeping your wig clean and fresh. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for washing your wig, as specific instructions may vary based on its type and construction. Avoid using regular hair products, as they may contain harsh chemicals. Generally, you’ll need a wig shampoo that is gentle and sulfate-free. Fill a basin with lukewarm water and immerse your wig, gently swirling it around. Rinse thoroughly and apply wig conditioner for added softness. Pat it dry with a towel and let it air dry on a wig stand or foam head. Avoid rubbing or wringing the wig, as this can cause damage.

c) Drying Your Wig Carefully: When drying your wig, handle it with care to prevent damage. After washing, gently squeeze out excess water without twisting or wringing. Place it on a towel and gently blot to remove additional moisture. Allow your wig to air dry on a stand or mannequin head to maintain its shape. Avoid using heat tools such as hair dryers, as excessive heat can damage synthetic fibers or human hair. Instead, allow the wig to air dry naturally. For synthetic wigs, avoid direct sunlight or heat sources, as these can cause color fading or melting. Human hair wigs can be dried on a low-heat setting using a diffuser. Be patient during the drying process to ensure the best results.

d) Proper maintenance is key to prolonging the lifespan of your wig. Store it on a stand or a foam head to maintain its shape and prevent tangling. Avoid exposing it to harsh weather conditions, excessive heat, or humidity. Use wig-specific products for washing, conditioning, and styling to ensure optimal care. Regularly inspect your wig for any signs of damage or wear and tear. If necessary, seek professional repair services to fix any issues promptly.

3. Styling Your Wig

a) Heat Styling Your Wig: If your wig allows for heat styling, such as human hair wigs, it opens up a world of possibilities. However, it’s crucial to exercise caution and use the correct tools and techniques to prevent heat damage. Before heat styling, ensure that your wig is completely dry. Apply a heat-protectant spray to minimize damage. Use a low or medium heat setting on your styling tools and avoid prolonged exposure to heat. For curls or waves, use a curling iron or hot rollers. For straightening or smoothing, use a flat iron or a blow dryer with a comb attachment. Remember to work in small sections and avoid applying excessive heat to a single area. After heat styling, allow your wig to cool before brushing or combing.

b) Creating Updos and Ponytails: Creating updos and ponytails with wigs offers endless styling options. Use a hairnet to create a smooth and natural-looking base. To create an updo, gather the wig’s hair and secure it with bobby pins or hair ties. Use a cap or a thin hairnet to keep your natural hair in place and ensure a seamless look. For ponytails, use a hair tie or a clip to gather the hair at the desired height. Avoid pulling the hair too tightly, as this can strain the wig cap or cause discomfort. Secure any loose strands with bobby pins for a polished look.

c) Wig Accessories: Accessories can add flair and personality to your wig. Experiment with headbands, scarves, hats, or clips to enhance your look. Ensure that the accessories are wig-friendly and won’t damage or snag the fibers. Choose accessories that complement your wig’s color and style, allowing you to express your individuality and creativity.

By understanding the type, construction, and color selection of your wig and following proper detangling, washing, and drying techniques, you can achieve a polished and professional look. Heat styling, creating updos and ponytails, and accessorizing further enhance its versatility. With patience, practice, and attention to detail, you’ll be able to harness the transformative power of wigs and achieve head-turning styles that elevate your confidence and individuality. Remember to seek professional assistance for customization and prioritize regular maintenance to ensure your wig stays in top condition. With these expert tips, you’ll be able to confidently style your wig and embrace endless possibilities for your hair transformation.

Lace, Skin, Mono Hair Systems, How to Choose?

Here we are with another article aimed at the best knowledge and awareness of the world of hair implants, wigs, and toupees. This time we have thought of describing all the characteristics of all types of materials used in the creation process, hoping it will come in handy. Enjoy the reading!

Hair implants, how to make it more natural

How to make a wig look like our beloved, lost hair? What are the tricks?

More than on whether it is true or false, it depends on the quality of the wig, so the carnival toy wig, so to speak, will never look like a mass of real hair.

As experts point out, it depends a lot on the hairline. The best wigs have a hairline that reveals the skin, called lace. If we are not satisfied, we can ask to style it by cutting a tuft or bangs.

Surely, trying it a little at home can help us feel at ease when we are away. It is also important to “play” with the wig as if it were our hair: a tuft behind the ear, a scratch, roll a lock around a finger. Hair is an integral part of our expressiveness and our facial expressions.

We can then make braids, tails, chignons, and hairstyles that do not highlight the hairline. Wear a hair clip, hairpin or headband, as well as hats, caps, and scarves. Go to the hairdresser for a trim. However, we will be careful of heat sources, strong wind, children who pull our hair.

Another trick suggested by the experts in the use of talcum powder or dry shampoo to make it less shiny and more similar to our natural hair.

Finally, it must be considered that wigs are always perfect, which our hair never will be. Let me explain: if you were to go out in a hurry, you would put on the first thing you find, maybe you would make a queue and go. With the wig no, whatever your outfit, you will always have a perfectly tidy hairstyle, which can create contrast. This is why I suggest pliers or flannel when you are less careful in clothing. Conversely, when you dress well, you will always have tidy and perfectly styled hair.

5 myths about wigs to dispel

1 They are hot and annoying

Modern hair crowns are not like old wigs or hairpieces of yore, they are not heavy and they are not hot. They are in fact made with very thin and breathable bases. When you wear them, you will not only not have the sensation of a foreign body, but you will just not feel them.

The wearers of our products, for example, say that once adhered to their skin, the sensation is like that of having their hair back, you feel the air on the skin and if you take a shower, for example, you feel the water on the head, as if it were your hair then, not a heavy and uncomfortable body.

2 They move with the wind or if one touches our hair and head

This fear arises from various comedies and even advertisements. Who hasn’t seen on TV scenes of wearing wigs who see their hair flying with the wind or a comedy where an often ridiculous character sees their hair literally fly after a slap?

It is not so. Modern hair prostheses and wigs are not old hairpieces, they are in fact adhered to your skin with very resistant glues, and therefore if there is wind the hair will move, just like that of normal hair, not the whole system. If someone touches your hair or gives you a slap nothing will happen (apart from the right physical pain you will have), but even more so, if someone gets into a fight with you and pulls your hair, they will not find the prosthesis in hand but at most, just as happens in nature, a few hairs.

So rest assured, nothing happens to your men’s toupee with the wind or fighting, but please try to live in peace and do not fight for nonsense.

3 My alopecia due to lack of air will get worse

No girls and boys, it’s not like that, alopecia doesn’t get worse for a hair prosthesis.

In fact, among the wearers of thinning crown prostheses, we have many people for example who use them due to pharmacological alopecia (chemotherapy), and all, once the treatment is finished, have complete regrowth of their hair.

So, you do not have to fear a worsening of alopecia for the prosthesis. Clearly, it could get worse because it was destined to get worse over time, since androgenetic alopecia tends to increase over time, but never because you are using a hair prosthesis. That is just a legend underground without any foundation.

4 You cannot swim or shower with them

Many fear that if you wear a hair prosthesis you cannot take a shower and worse still go to the sea or swim in the pool. They fear they will find the prosthesis floating next to them.

But this is also clearly a myth without any foundation, deriving from the old world of toupees and movable hairpieces. The capillary prostheses, as we have said, are anchored to your skin with strong adhesives suitable for human use and hypoallergenic, which often are activated with sweat. So taking a bath not only will not move, but the adhesion will increase if you use one of these new adhesives. Rest assured, with hair implants you can not only have a normal life, but also a sporty and active life.

5 They are visible and unnatural

This is just a baseless fantasy. If you have any doubts, please watch the many videos we have published on our Youtube channel! As you can see from all the videos, the prostheses are totally invisible and natural.

In fact, the bases of the new hair prostheses disappear perfectly in contact with the skin and ensure a hair so perfect that you can even comb it with your hair all back.

Basis Types

Wigs are divided into two main parts: the base and the hair. The base can consist of different materials and even combinations of them. There are more resistant materials, others less visible, some easy to clean and others breathable.

NB: it is very important to understand what are the characteristics you would like to have for your prosthesis. For example: if you live in a hot and muggy region, or if you go towards the summer, it is better to buy a wig with a breathable fabric that freshness to your scalp. So pay attention to your habits and what surrounds you.

Lace

Lace is certainly the best-known material for the anterior area of the hair prosthesis. Have you ever heard of lace front? It is a lace-like fabric, light, soft, and completely breathable. There are two main types of lace: French and Swiss.

French lace is imperceptible and more resistant than Swiss lace. It bears even quite high hair density.

Many customers require Swiss lace for the front area because it is the most natural-looking one. True, but it is also very delicate and easy to accidentally tear off during daily care. It is not compatible with hair densities higher than medium-light.

We refer to the lace front when this fabric is used exclusively in the front area of the wig, for a more natural look.

Monofilament

Monofilament is a fabric similar to lace, also completely breathable, but more resistant, therefore thicker and consequently less imperceptible. It usually lasts between four and six months, but some customers manage to wear it for almost a year! Here are the main types:

  • The resistant monofilament (fine welded mono) is certainly the most resistant material and therefore can support high hair densities.
  • The fine monofilament (fine mono) is certainly the most used material in the wig and hair prosthesis industry and also one of the most chosen among customers because it is a good compromise between imperceptibility and resistance. It is mainly used for the central areas of wigs and is enclosed in a perimeter of PU (polyurethane) to prevent it from falling apart at the edges.
  • The very fine monofilament (superfine mono) is the most delicate and soft, with smaller holes than the other two types. Due to this characteristic, it is not compatible with hair densities higher than medium-light / medium.
  • Monofilament silk effect (silk mono): this fabric consists of a combination of two fabrics: lace and monofilament. The hair is knotted first in a layer of lace and then passed into a layer of monofilament. In this way, it is impossible to see the knot, because it remains under the top layer of the monofilament.
  • German mesh: recommended for those who prefer durability to a natural look. It is indeed the most resistant material, but it is thicker and therefore more visible.

Skin

This material is the most advanced. It is PU (polyurethane, a plastic material) of different thicknesses and is called ‘skin’ in English because the effect is leather-like. These products are absolutely imperceptible and very easy to apply to the skin and clean. Unlike the other materials seen so far, they are not breathable. Let’s see the most important ones:

The ultra-thin has a thickness of 0.03 mm. Which makes it completely invisible, but at the same time not very resistant. It usually lasts for a maximum of 2 months.

There is also a type of film a little more resistant than those mentioned above, which is the film with gauze. It is characterized by a gauze-like fabric to which a layer of PU is applied. The super-thin is instead of 0.08 mm. Thicker, therefore more resistant. Finally, the silicone is 0.25mm thick. It is a very common material and is the strongest of all leather-like products.

To say or not to say that you are using a hair system?

Twenty years ago, hair implants weren’t what they are now. Thanks to technological progress, the production processes have been improved, resulting in an infinity of very well-achieved hair systems in terms of structure, quality, finish, and, above all, absolutely undetectable both to the eyes and to the touch.

Now times have changed and we can have several options to solve alopecia aesthetically using hair systems, as most of these are usually not detectable, although they also affect this factor, the style of the hairstyle in combination with the type of hair prostheses worn by the customer.

However, we know that taking this step leads to a number of fears and doubts. But these must be brushed aside by the fact that using one of our wigs will increase your confidence whether you are a man or a woman. If what you want most in your life is to see yourself with hair from when you were young or longer hair, you will have no reason not to wear a wig! Think how much you will benefit from it as a person!

Sometimes we tend to forget about ourselves and the pleasure we have when we look in the mirror with what we most want to wear. It is enough to spend very little to take home that something that makes us feel good and live as we have always wanted, so why withdraw from the purchase?

Other useful tips

Use tweezers to pinch any areas that seem unnatural to you. To make the parting space mimic real hair and scalp, pluck some hair from the parting space to spread it to a natural density.

Put makeup on the base of the wig. Use face powder, concealer, or foundation to help blend the skin tone with the wig.

If the wig looks bulky, apply a mousse and mash it with a scarf. Of course, if you love voluminous hair, you don’t have to do anything. Also, if your hair feels a little too shiny, you can spray some dry shampoo and brush.

Cut the wig as close to the hairline as possible, especially if it has lace. Although lace front wigs are designed to look like skin, it is essential to cut as close to the hairline to help the wig blend into your skin. Take your time and use sharp scissors to be precise.

HOW TO STYLE YOUR WIG

In our world today, a wig is a common accessory. Many women wear wigs for different reasons. Styling the wig is next to wearing them. There so many ways one can style wigs. You can make it straight, curly, braid it or pack it into a ponytail. To some people, this is a Herculean task, but it is not supposed to be so because unlike a human head, wigs are flexible; you can place the wig on the mannequin and style it yourself. Also, getting your wig styled by yourself before the event proper would not just save costs for you. This article would clearly explain how you can style your wigs whether synthetic other human hair without having to visit the stylist.

To style your wig, you need to first ascertain the origin of the wig: some wigs of some particular origin would be best styled in a particular way. Synthetic hair would not be styled the same way as the human hair.

human hair
human hair

Human hair wigs

For styling your human hair wig, you need the wig, a mannequin head, hair rollers or curling iron and a wig brush or comb.

The following steps would guide you in styling your human hair wig:

  • Wear the wig over the mannequin head and arrange it until you get a perfect fit as it would be on a human head.
  • Cut off the excess lace that comes out at the front of the wig. The lace must be trimmed to achieve a natural look. Take extra care in cutting off the lace so you do not trim the wig. For the process to be achieved, there is need for your hand to be steady while working with a good pair of scissors.
  • While on this, cut a small portion at a time. This requires a lot of patience to get a perfect work done. Trying to cut off all the parts of the lace may not come out well.
  • After cutting off the lace, define the parting. If you would want it to be parted at the centre or side of the hair, use your fine-toothed comb to do the parting neatly. Keep reinforcing the separation with the comb.
  • Wet the hair to make for easy styling. Wetting the hair is best for achieving hairstyles like perm rod sets or rollers sets. You can apply hair lotion or styling foam to make the hair smooth. Remember to be gentle while handling the hair.
  • For a curly hairstyle, use hair rollers to roll the hair and set it with a hair spray or diluted setting lotion. The setting lotion would keep the hair moist and makes the hair adhere to the effect of the roll when the hair dries.
  • If you have rough and fuzzy edges, use your wet hands to smoothen the edges and apply a good hair oil, shea butter is recommended. The oil gives the hair a natural shine. If you would want to bring out the baby hair, it is at this stage that you pick the front hair and brush it in the direction of your choice while applying edge control.
  • When you are done with the above step, air dry the wig. Do not use a blow dryer to dry your wig. Blow dryer would dry out the wig and subsequently damage it.
  • Remove the rollers when the hair is properly dried. The curls would remain.
  • Apply a shinning spray to the wig to add to its shine.

Human hair wig can be restyled using a flat iron, curling iron, blow dryer or electric rollers on medium heat. It can also be dyed, bleached or straightened to look like the natural hair. Only make sure to use a good conditioner to extend the life span of the wig.

synthetic hair
synthetic hair

Synthetic wigs

It doesn’t take much effort to maintain synthetic wigs. This is because they come with their styles. You can buy and use your wig for a long period of time without having to restyle it. It holds the style for a long time. When synthetic wigs are washed, the styling is not lost. It bounces back to the way it was once it is dried. This implies that you do not need to worry too much about styling your synthetic wigs as you would do to the human hair wigs.

Despite the fact that you do not need style to your synthetic wig often, there are simple procedures you can follow to make your wig looking new. To style your synthetic wig, you need a leave-in condition, wig shampoo, wide-toothed comb, a wig stand, a towel, a mannequin head, a spray bottle filled with water, and a blow dryer.

These steps would help you in styling your synthetic wigs:

  • Wash and dry the wig

Detangle the hair with a wide-toothed comb. Wash the wig properly and dry it on the wig stand. Any other tall item around the house can serve, if you do not have a wig stand.  Do not wring the wig and as it may cause tangling.  Do not comb the wig fully in the wet state; it may stretch and tangle the wig when it dries. Allow the wig enough time to dry so that the wig cap can dry as well.

  • Styling

When the wig is properly dried, place it on a mannequin head and secure it tightly. Using this tool would help you concentrate on the sides of the heads as you would do to a real head. Use your fingers to arrange the hairs the way you would want and hold down the style with a shaping cream. You can part the hair if your top wig is a monofilament and has not been parted before. Use a wide-toothed comb to make the part while spraying some water.

  • Use a blow dry on a low heat setting to dry the root toward the styled direction. Make sure not to over heat the blow-dry else, it burns the fibre.
  • Use your toothed comb to detangle once again. There may be need to carry the comb along with you so you would detangle the hair once the need arises especially if your wig is a long one.

Do not use styling tools like curling iron or straightener on your synthetic wigs as they are not meant to withstand a hot temperature.

Now you can style your wigs, feel free to carry out the experiments.

They cost more than synthetic and are more preferably worn because in a way they are long term investment. Therefore, it is always a wise choice to choose wigs; human hair wigs.

• Wigs are worth the cost
Most expensive wigs are produced from natural human hair. This explains the shortage in supply because human hair wigs are usually scarcer than synthetic products. Most females always prefer to wear the human hair wig because it matches the color of the scalp, fits the hairline and makes it look very natural. Wigs also enhance the look of the wearer because the hair movement is real and not artificial-looking. A fashionable and neat hairstyle can be achieved within a few minutes with the wearer looking a billion dollars. You don’t have to wait for long hours at the salon waiting to have your hair fixed.

• Lightweight and breathable
Human hair extensions are sewn in mesh caps that have holes. This enables the circulation of air in and around the wig. This also encourages the fact that wig can be worn even all year round, even in winter. The head is kept dry and ventilated for as long as the wig is worn.
It is preferable and recommendable for people suffering from hair loss or alopecia to wear human hair wig. Therefore, since human hair wigs have breathable mesh, hair growth will not be difficult to achieve.

This goes on for another trend of beautiful long hair comes, one will have to wear wigs to keep up with the trends to avoid being left out. Wigs are also the preferred choice instead of going through nasty, painful hair surgeries that are unlikely to be successful.

Conclusively, paying more for a wig means that the value you get is increased. Putting the cost of wigs into considerations, they are worth having as an accessory. Wearing a beautiful, lustrous makes the wearer feel more expensive and look more beautiful.

Why I don’t suggest you to cut all the lace on synthetic wigs?

If you ask what’s the most important suggestion I will offer for synthetic wig beginners, that must be “don’t cutt off all the lace”. There’s no rule that people can’t cut off all the lace. But I want to show you why I say don’t cut off all the lace.

blondie
blondie

It looks too wiggy if you cut all the lace and it’s hard for me to adjust the wig because there’s no lace. When you put your hair behind your ear, the edges will be lifted up. You know why it’s lifted up? Because you have no lace to help support you right there. If you didn’t cut off the lace, you would have lace right there that goes over your sideburn.

front lace cap
front lace cap

If you want to create a little bit edge so it can look like a frontal, you need to own one of wig brushes. Use a comb and take a little bit of hair and make sure it’s behind your ear. Take your got 2b ultra glue and hold the hair down. When you do that, you need to manipulate hairs over the ears. Take your ratatat tail comb and bring the hair down a little bit. It will look more natural. Cut of any unnecessary hair.

lace cap
lace cap

If you do cut off all the lace and you want to lay it down, it’s gonna be hard. I cut off all the lace of one of my wigs and I applied the glue underneath the wig, lay it downand tried my best. The next day I woke up bumps all on my head. It was disgustig. Why did I break out and bumps when I didn’t have any lace? When I usually have lace, I never break out of bumps. That’s probably another reason why I tell you to leave a little bit lace on. The wig itself is on your forehead glued down and it’s not safe for your skin. The lace is like a protective and protect your head from breaking out. I’ve never broken out from the glue ever except for that time I tried to put glue under a wig that I could have all the wig on.

grey hair
grey hair

Follow the steps I mentioned above you can’t even see the lace because the lace is brown and it blends in with my skin. I don’t leave a whole bunch of lace. But I leave it enough where I can adjust the wig. I can add some subsides.

1.Red to black ombre
Inspired by Mera in Aquaman the Garnet Temptation Lace Front Wig has a nice comnination between dark roots and royal red.
It’s a sweet trendy seductive wig. Roots are the chocolate or soda. The darkened root would represent a ‘dark soul’ and this beautiful red color reminded me of blood in an aesthetically way. That wig looks just like “Red Velvet”. Shiny, soft and a little mysterious. Those shades of red are truly mesmerizing.

2.Gold to brown ombre
Fawn Lace Front Wig is our brand new exclusive design released on March. What makes it stand out is how it blends so perfectly. She reminds me of delicious swirls of caramel in a white chocolate latte. It’s the perfect blend of golds and browns. You cannot even tell it’s synthetic fibers! All the different shades remind me of the mix between coffee and milk and then how they form a nice beige when they do.

3.Brown to white and black ombre

Details about UniWigs blonde wigs

I’ve got tons of wig review requests about UniWigs. I haven’t even loved every single wig but I have tried a few of them. They are a great company and they made really high quality products. This is my newest one. I’m so excited about it.

It is super glam blonde lace front wig. I want to give you guys a slay this summer. I’m going to give all details and show how I install this wig, what I did to my natural hair underneath and how I lay the perimeter of it.

Before I show you how to put on this wig I want to give you guys the specs of this wig. This is a 22 inches synthetic lace front wig. It is light beige blonde color. This is a 200% density wig, which means that basically there’s twice as much hair on this wig than the average wig. You can get more hair and a nice thick wig.

I’m going to explaining the whole process of how I prepared my natural hair. My hair is getting longer so I just make two little pigtails. This is the easiest thing to do since I don’t know how to cornrow still and it’s fast, simple and actually works. My hair is getting longer now so I have more and more hair to try to fit up under my wig and still make the wig lay flat especially when I do a straight middle part wig, you need your natural hair to b laying as flat as possible across the top. Otherwise the wig will not look great. All I prepare my natural hair is wash it, condition it with whatever you want to wash your hair. Make sure you use something moisturizing. Let your hair be nourished ad moisturized under your wig so that your hair can grow while you wear a wig

I have my wig cap. I like to use a wig combination of wig caps depending on how and what I’m doing. I have the net cap and sock cap. I use net cap when I wear glueless method because it allows me to stick the comb through the net and into your hair. But since I will do the glue method and I’m going to secure it around the perimeter rather than really rely on the comb going to my hair. I like to use the stock cap.

The next main ingredient to clean all wig should not be surprise to anybody who wears wigs or frontals. It’s got2b glue. I will apply just a little bit on my edges. After I did my makeup they start frizzing a little bit. The glue really helps to split down your edges before you put on your wig that way everything is pulled back out of the way and you don’t have to deal with it. It lays nice and flat under your wig cap. I also slap a bobby pin to help dole it down.

I put the wig cap pretty low at first to get it on there. Basically I crisscross my braids and tuck it in. I try to flatten it out and scoot it down. It also helps if your natural hair is damp. My hair is still damp from washing it earlier.

It is a synthetic lace front wig. It has huge lace where the hairs are hand tied off the lace. It’s in the very back of the wig where there are actual tracks. It also has two combs on either side of your head, which helps a lot if you are doing any type of ponytail or high bun. There is also an adjustable strap around the nave of the neck, which allows you t tighten or loosen the whole wig to fit your head perfectly.

How to restore a tangled, dry matted and frizzy wig?

Have you ever run into these kinds of situation?

I couldn’t help wearing my favorite wig to swimming and it tangled afterwards! I wear this wig daily and for almost a year and I really love it but it become tangling badly. I am not sure why but it just gets tangled very easily…

I am sure you have! Hair growing on the head can get natural conditioning from the human body continuously, while for the human hair on a wig, it has lost the source of natural conditioning. Thus it will tangle and this is normal.

No worries! Let me guide you to detangle the wig and bring it back to life step by step:

How to restore a tangled wig
How to restore a tangled wig

1.Combing (a mannequin head, spray bottle, and a wide-tooth comb)
Put the matted wig onto a mannequin head and use needles to secure it. Prepare a spray bottle filled in with 1:20 fabric softener and water.
Spray a little water onto the wig and comb all the knots and tangles through strand by strand. Brush the wig starting at the ends and working upwards to the scalp area until the whole wig is tangle free.

2.Washing
Put some mild temperature water in the sink and cupfuls of sulfate free shampoo. Don’t use hot water for curl wigs because hot water will remove the curls. Soak it in the water for 10-15 minutes. Gently wash the wig to remove all the extra oil or dirt off. Rinse the wig with the water flowing in the direction the hair is laid.

3.Deep Conditioning
Saturate the unit with deep conditioner and put it in a plastic bag to make sure each hair get moistured. Microwave for 30 seconds or let it sit for an hour or more.

4.Rinse the conditioner. Use a towel to absorb the water and let it air dry.

5.Style it as you like.

When you have wig tangling problem, try these steps and you will be amazed when you bring your favorite wig back to life!
