Can you bleach human hair wigs and how to protect them

There are two basic types of wigs that people can choose to wear: those made from natural human hair and those that are made from synthetic fibres. Both varieties have apparent advantages – human hair wigs can give you a very natural look while synthetic wigs are a lot easier on the budget.

However, it’s not always that simple when you have to choose a wig for your personal use. There are many other pros and cons to each option that you would need to consider carefully to end up with a hairpiece that is perfect for you.

One of the most important questions that you would need to answer is what the benefits of human hair wigs are? Some of these wigs are selling for a great deal more than synthetic wigs, sometimes even costing thousands of dollars per piece. It is therefore natural for an interested buyer to wonder about what makes these wigs so expensive.

Well, as mentioned earlier, there is nothing better than a human hair wig if you are looking for a completely natural appearance. The hair feels soft and real because it is indeed real. You can style it any way you like and even dye it if you so choose. In other words, you can treat it just like you would your hair. Of course, it is still not recommended that you subject a wig, whether it is made from hair or otherwise, to excessive styling and dyeing because it can sustain irreparable damage over time.

Nowadays, all the girls who want to change their hairstyle quickly without any effect on their real hair. Synthetic wigs are a much more affordable alternative to human hair wigs. Unfortunately, because of this, they don’t last as long as human hair wigs and are also more limiting as far as shape and style options. They also require extra care to keep them looking clean and smelling fresh. However, with proper maintenance and use, synthetic wigs are an efficient and affordable option, whether you need a wig for personal or professional use. Unfortunately, they cannot be lightened. In this article, let’s explore can you bleach human hair wigs and some tips to protect your extensions.

How To & Tips
How To & Tips

We can dye or bleach hair to change human hair colour, lots of women wear a full lace wig and lace front wig every day. Hair just like they dress clothes themselves, they spend more time wearing human hair wigs than on makeup. But do you know what to do when you tired of the same old hair colour, day in and day out?

Anytime you want lighter hair; you should slightly bleach human hair wig with care like not ruin the wig. Thankfully, changing the colour of the lace wig is as simple as colouring your natural hair, the only issue being the delicate knots that attach the hair to the lace. When changing wig hair to a lighter colour, you will also need to bleach the knots for human hair wig. This process should be done with care just like not ruin your daily friend.

Human hair wigs are very versatile, and you can use them for different purposes. They can be maintained easily and have a long lifespan. You can treat them like your hair. To retain their natural look, you can wash, shampoo and dye them in the ways you like. You can create different and fashionable hairstyles by using them effectively. Wigs with small clips can be attached to the existing hair very quickly and will be very stable, so you do not need to worry about them getting slipped.

Office ladies also prefer human hair wigs, because these wigs can not only help them achieve great looks but also boost confidence when you feel great about how you look, your self-confidence increases.

Bleach and highlights remove the colour from your hair by the process of oxidation. “Oxidation decolorizes the pigment in your hair shaft, which is why bleach will turn your hair almost white if it’s left on for too long. Very bleached hair often gains a yellow tint, because keratin (the protein your hair is made of) is naturally a pale yellow,” says Cuannane Phillips. “Hair needs to be tinted as well as bleached for the platinum blond look. It’s impossible to make your hair a lighter shade without the help of a bleaching agent — all of which are called ‘oxidizing agents.'”

Semi-permanent: or temporary hair colour gives you more natural colour and is also easier to use. You can use semi-permanent dyes straight from the applicator as they don’t have to be pre-mixed. Cuannane Phillips adds, “They last for about six weeks and tend to fade progressively. As temporary colours don’t contain bleach, they can’t lighten your natural shade. Temporary dyes fade with shampooing and exposure to air. This means they need to be frequently reapplied, which can be damaging.”

Permanent hair dyes: are also known as “oxidation,” according to Cuannane Phillips. This is because an oxidizer (such as hydrogen peroxide) and ammonia are mixed with the colouring agent before application. Permanent dyes don’t have to be applied as often as semi-permanent or temporary colours. The formulation of permanent dyes is very complicated, and manufacturers go to great lengths to attain long-lasting glow that does minimal damage to the strength and elasticity of your hair. There is a broader range of permanent colour, and these colour shades are often more natural-looking. However, permanent dyes can be more damaging to your hair. The chemicals used are stronger, and the mixture usually has to be left on for a more extended period.

Conclusion

Dying your hair gives you the confidence you so desire when carrying a colour that best suits you or your wig might have lost its colour shade, and you may decide to refine its colour by dying it. You can style and dye your human hair wig; however, you choose. Of course, it is not recommended that you dye your wig multiple times, because doing so could potentially damage it.

Why I don’t suggest you to cut all the lace on synthetic wigs?

If you ask what’s the most important suggestion I will offer for synthetic wig beginners, that must be “don’t cutt off all the lace”. There’s no rule that people can’t cut off all the lace. But I want to show you why I say don’t cut off all the lace.

blondie
blondie

It looks too wiggy if you cut all the lace and it’s hard for me to adjust the wig because there’s no lace. When you put your hair behind your ear, the edges will be lifted up. You know why it’s lifted up? Because you have no lace to help support you right there. If you didn’t cut off the lace, you would have lace right there that goes over your sideburn.

front lace cap
front lace cap

If you want to create a little bit edge so it can look like a frontal, you need to own one of wig brushes. Use a comb and take a little bit of hair and make sure it’s behind your ear. Take your got 2b ultra glue and hold the hair down. When you do that, you need to manipulate hairs over the ears. Take your ratatat tail comb and bring the hair down a little bit. It will look more natural. Cut of any unnecessary hair.

lace cap
lace cap

If you do cut off all the lace and you want to lay it down, it’s gonna be hard. I cut off all the lace of one of my wigs and I applied the glue underneath the wig, lay it downand tried my best. The next day I woke up bumps all on my head. It was disgustig. Why did I break out and bumps when I didn’t have any lace? When I usually have lace, I never break out of bumps. That’s probably another reason why I tell you to leave a little bit lace on. The wig itself is on your forehead glued down and it’s not safe for your skin. The lace is like a protective and protect your head from breaking out. I’ve never broken out from the glue ever except for that time I tried to put glue under a wig that I could have all the wig on.

grey hair

Follow the steps I mentioned above you can’t even see the lace because the lace is brown and it blends in with my skin. I don’t leave a whole bunch of lace. But I leave it enough where I can adjust the wig. I can add some subsides.

WIG 101–Wig Hacks/Tips You Need To Know

If you don’t wear wigs always, you may need these hacks to play with it. Let’s get started.

Some people don’t like the shiny and oily hair, you could use the baby powder to remove that. This really does much help.Take a brush and brush it down. If you don’t have the baby powder, the dry shampoo is also a good choice. You just comb out and it will take all oil out.

The next hack is for baby hair. So if you are the person who doesn’t have so much edges, or you just don’t want to damage your own hair and you don’t want to have any leave out, then get a wig with baby hairs will be your best choice. At UniWigs.com, we could offer the baby hair service for you if you prefer. Just remark when you place the order.

Next, let’s talk about washing the wig. When you wash your wig, make sure you will wash down the hair, otherwise it would be easy to tangle. When you dry the wig, we suggest you to air dry it with a wig stand. But if you don’t have a wig stand, you could just use the hanger and put the wig on it. Leave it for over night and it should be dry. Don’t use the blow dryer since it really damage the hair.

This hacks is for lace front or full lace, and the lace color doesn’t match with your own skin. Basically, what you can do is to take the eye powder or bronzer which is exactly your skin color, and use the brush to put some powder on the lace part. This will make the parting line more natural.

3 Ombre synthetic lace front wigs you shouldn’t miss

Ombre synthetic lace front wigs are the perfect way to achieve the natural look of a lace wig with different colors but also with budget. Here’s some recommendations from UniWigs.com that you might be interested:

Red to black ombre
Red to black ombre

1.Red to black ombre
Inspired by Mera in Aquaman the Garnet Temptation Lace Front Wig has a nice comnination between dark roots and royal red.
It’s a sweet trendy seductive wig. Roots are the chocolate or soda. The darkened root would represent a ‘dark soul’ and this beautiful red color reminded me of blood in an aesthetically way. That wig looks just like “Red Velvet”. Shiny, soft and a little mysterious. Those shades of red are truly mesmerizing.

2.Gold to brown ombre
Fawn Lace Front Wig is our brand new exclusive design released on March. What makes it stand out is how it blends so perfectly. She reminds me of delicious swirls of caramel in a white chocolate latte. It’s the perfect blend of golds and browns. You cannot even tell it’s synthetic fibers! All the different shades remind me of the mix between coffee and milk and then how they form a nice beige when they do.

3.Brown to white and black ombre
When the winter comes, the pure snow covers the cold land. But the sun is shining as always. In the sunshine the life will welcome their another spring and bringing new surprise to the cold world. Based on this idea we give you this Bambi Lace Front Wig , natural Ice Silver of the hair boot to the Chocolate Brown, melting together to create the perfect balance of warm and cool shades. Also it shows the innocence and daintiness of the piece.
She’s a gorgeous layered natural straight lace front synthetic wig. Same as all other UniWigs Trendy Wigs Bambi was made with heat-friendly synthetic fiber which makes it versatile to style with heating tools.13*3 Lace Front wig cap makes the hair line look more natural. To enhance your look, you can add a braid, curl it or flat iron it super straight.

How to keep your wig feeling super soft this season

So, it’s still a little chilly outside, and all we want to do is cosy up indoors under snuggly blankets until the sun properly returns. When we do have to leave the comfort of home and brave the outdoors, cold weather, harsh winds and snow can be damaging to our skin, our hair… and our cherished wigs! Until Spring arrives, protect your investment by considering these methods.

Use a pH Balanced Shampoo
Our skin and hair’s natural pH balance is on the acidic side, so acidic based shampoos are very good for hair! (these shampoos are the opposite to regular alkaline based shampoos which can be very drying to hair). Acidic based shampoos close the cuticle shaft of hair and keep moisture in the hair, as well as not stripping off all of the hair’s oils. Any shampoo bottle that says it is pH balanced is going to be acidic based. So, wash your wig with a pH balanced shampoo to protect it from drying out.

Condition
This may sound obvious, but conditioner makes hair soft! It protects hair from dryness. If you want to protect your investment apply a generous amount of conditioner to your wig after washing. Let the conditioner sit for 15 minutes to an hour before rinsing in mild water for a deeper condition. A hair serum applied after styling or leave-in conditioner will also give your wig long-lasting protection and shine.

uniwigs human hair wigs

It’s how you brush
Brush through your wig gently to avoid the hair becoming frizzy or ripping the hair from the wig tracks. Start brushing from the ends of the hair and work your way up. If possible, try and separate the tangles with your fingers as this is very gentle. After brushing, a light oil sheen can be sprayed onto the wig to restore lustre, this can be done on synthetic and human hair wigs.

blonde wigs
blonde wigs

Dry naturally
To let your wig air dry after a wash rather than blow drying is much better for your wig’s condition. Also make sure that the hair is completely dry before going outside in cold weather or it could freeze! Wigs are more suspectable to freezing and this can cause brittle hair and breakage. Make sure you allow plenty of time for your wig to dry, letting it air dry over night is always a good way to know it will be dry in time.

hairstyles

Limit heat
Heat tool styling depletes your hair of moisture. We know, we know, heat tool styling provides hair with the most sleek and flawless looks! But consider cutting down during the cooler months to notice a difference in the softness of your wig. Of course, many synthetic wigs are not able to withstand any heat styling, so be sure to double check if yours is heat-friendly.

Cover up
Cover up and protect your wig! Always check the weather before you head out the door, and if there’s any chance of rain, snow, or generally bad weather, wrap your hair or wear a hat (silk lined is best to retain the hairs moisture) or grab an umbrella.

So that is how you keep your wig protected from the cold weather until the sun returns for spring! We can’t wait!
