So first of all, do you know the definition or meaning of the word, toupee?
Definition of toupee: a small artificial hairpiece worn to cover a bald spot.
While most toupees are small and designed to cover bald spots at the top and back of the head, large toupees are not unknown. Toupees are often referred to as hairpieces, units, or hair systems. Many women now wear hairpieces rather than full wigs if their hair loss is confined to the top and crown of their heads.

Many celebrities wear toupees.
Many, many people wear toupees, and more and more Hollywood stars do so due to hair loss problems. Try to search for “celebrity toupees before and after” on Google and you will find many famous celebrities who wear toupees. What we are trying to say is that wearing hair replacement systems is so common that you don’t need to be ashamed of needing one yourself.

Corey Stoll was a breakout, bald star of House of Cards and Midnight in Paris, so we were shocked to see him with a hairpiece in FX’s vampire thriller, The Strain. Luckily, the elaborate coif was just a plot device – his character shaved his head to go incognito in Season 2.

Celebrities always seem to lead fashion trends everywhere. But not everything can be copied. Have you read the post about Alex Beattie who shared bloody pictures of himself after having a hair transplant? By sharing a picture of himself with a bloody hairline following the painful procedure, Alex opened up to his 688k followers. It looked really painful. Not everyone can handle this. Why not just choose a hair replacement systems without pain or worry.

So How to choose a toupee online?
Before finding out how to choose a toupee, you should know which toupees are good and which are bad. Unlike the toupee definition, there is no fixed standard for the best and worst toupees. However, one thing can be said for sure is that protection of your scalp is the minimum requirement. Other standards such durability, dyeing and styling options, and ease of application and cleaning should be of high standards among high quality toupees, too. If you don’t know how to avoid the worst toupees, search online and you will find many negative customer stories.

VSP Series- How to look your Best Before the Big Event (5 insider Secrets)

Season after season, some of the most beautiful women in the world gather together to showcase the best new designs in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. This year, we’re giving you a look at what it takes to develop and maintain the perfect look before the launch.

1) Maintenance and Love… Weeks before any show, it helps dramatically to avoid sugary and alcoholic beverages while staying active, both socially and physically.
Sugar by itself may give temporary satisfaction to those stressful days when we need a little chocolate therapy, but over time it can wreak havoc on your skin. Alcohol does the same and also dries out your skin, creating uneven blotches and shiny spots. Instead of hitting the bottle or the freezer isle at the local supermarket, hit the gym instead or use these cool autumn nights to take a relaxing stroll after dinner. Not only will you feel better and more confident, you’ll look better. Social exercise is important too! Studies in the past have shown that having an active social life can lower stress levels naturally, and even more importantly, can build confidence with new interactions. Less stress and healthy eating options = great skin.
2) Worship the Sun, avoid the kiss…. We all know sun damage can build up over time. Make sure to always use sunscreen or moisturizer with sun-blocking elements built in.
Anyone over 30 can tell you, your body changes over time. Sun damage can accelerate the appearance of aged skin, especially as we get older and it takes longer for our bodies to process these changes effectively. It’s better to act on the side of caution and preserve your look for the exciting years to come.
3) Selfie Perfection… Instead of over applying makeup for those nights on the town. Carry some translucent powder to freshen up your T-Zone right before a selfie.
Too much makeup can dry the skin and taking it off at the end of the night can damage and re-clog pores in the process. Most models prefer the gradual touch approach to maintaining the perfect look between camera flashes and fans. A little translucent powder applied artfully to your shiny areas can give you the perfect balance and glow without adding extra weight and texture.
4) Angels Everywhere… Creating the perfect Angel hairdo is easier than you think!
Using a simple wave iron, work on the body of the hair in separate strips while curling away from the face, leaving the ends untouched. Confused? Try visualizing what it would look like if your removed your top-knot and just let it flow down naturally. It’s a popular look that gives the impression you just spent an entire day at the beach, so it doesn’t have to be perfect; just enough structure and consistency to give your hair the right direction to develop naturally.
5) A facial a week keeps age at bay… With all the remarkable products available on the market today, it’s easier than ever to take some time out to renew and rejuvenate.
Korean Air flight attendants long shifts in conditions with low humidity, high stress and poor lighting. Even with their limited resources cruising miles above the earth, they still manage to look like runway models all day. The secret? Weekly facials and “off days” where makeup is prohibited. Many international flight attendants will attest to the fact that their face is the first and last impression a passenger receives on any flight. Knowing this, they pay special attention to routine and application of any product that contacts the skin. After an international flight, it’s common to reward the skin then allow it to breathe naturally before the next round of work. Professional models in the air to professional models on the strip; you’ll notice the change in very short time by sticking to this routine.

hair loss occurs only on the natural hair?

Who says that hair loss occurs only on the natural hair?  Actually hair loss does happen on the hair system as well.  This is caused by bacteria and friction that the hair system encounters every day. Either of the two or when combined together will affect hair loss in the hair system however, this can be prevented so that the hair system will last longer.

Hair replacement system easily rubs off due to friction caused by the absence of Sebum which is natural oil that protects and lubricates the hair follicles from friction.Hair fall is caused by sleeping on a coarse material pillow case.  Constant rubbing with the coarse fabric will cause hair breakage.  The best way to avoid this is to use a satin fabric for your pillow case.Combing and brushing too often will cause hair fall, to avoid this, using of Spray Luster Mist which is a lubricating agent will keep the hair moist and reduces the friction between the hair and the comb.Bacteria cause the hair system hair loss. The most vulnerable part of the hair system are the knots because they hold and retain moisture, any build up will naturally break and weaken the hair shafts of the hair.

You can use Brandywine shampoos because it is made specifically for hair systems, both synthetic and human hair.Use a knot sealer as often as possible whenever you use hair styling products. We can not avoid using styling products to help the hair look good however, with constant use this tends to weaken the knots and will cause hair fall. The knot sealer slows down and stops hair loss while locking the hair knots to the base of the hair system.

Hair system is the best non surgical hair loss solution, this is the most natural method of giving back our hair however, but hair loss in the hair replacement system can be avoided is we only adhere to the proper caring of the hair replacement system.

wigs care tips

Here is some good styling treatment for you to care your lovely wigs, pls read carefully and do as it writes, then your wig will be nice for ever~!

wigs care
wigs care

1.The right attitude is key to pulling off any hairstyle. If you are constantly worrying or fidgeting with your wig ,it won’t look good. Own it! Walk tall, be confident and you will be able to pull off any look you want..
2.Take your wig to your hairstylist to have bangs cut or trimmed, shaped or thinned out to remove excess bulk. A custom cut can make a world of difference. Think of your wig like a designer suit. Sure, you can wear it off the rack (or out of the box) and it can look good, but with a little tailoring it can look GREAT!
3.If you want to extend the life of your wig and keep it looking beautiful the proper care products are essential. Synthetic wigs require care products specifically formulated for synthetic hair. For human hair wigs, choose sulfate-free care products or products specifically formulated for color treated hair to keep the color looking vibrant, longer.
4.You should always have two wigs ready to wear at all times. This way you always have something to wear when you are washing your wig and a back up if anything should happen to one. Rotating between wigs also helps to extend the life.
5.If you love to cook here is a tip every wig wearer should know; NEVER open the oven while wearing a synthetic wig! The sudden burst of heat will ruin your wig; even the hot steam from a boiling pot of water can cause irreparable damage.
Avoid these kitchen disasters. Swap your wig for a stylish scarf or comfy cap; better yet, kick back and let someone else do the dirty work.
6.Synthetic wigs with too much shine look fake and unnatural. To minimize shine, sprinkle a little hair powder on your wig, and then brush through for a more natural look.
7.Add a headband, scarf or any hair accessory to create a personal touch. Just because you are wearing a wig doesn’t mean you have to wear it the same way all the time. Be creative.

Hair Treatment During Pregnancy: Is it Safe?

Questions related to hair treatments during pregnancy are common. Most treatments involve chemicals and dyes which leave women wondering if they are safe.

pregnancy women

Different Types of Hair Treatments Include:

  • Coloring- This includes permanent, semi-permanent, and temporary dyes.
  • Curling- Permanent waves are created by using two solutions on the hair. The first of these is a waving solution, and the second is a solution for neutralization/fixation.
  • Bleaching- This treatment uses hydrogen peroxide.
  • Relaxers- These are also known as perms. They contain either lye (sodium hydroxide) or no lye (potassium, lithium, or guanidine hydroxide) which are used to permanently straighten the hair.

Are Hair Dyes and Treatment Chemicals Safe While Pregnant?

Although fairly limited, most research indicates the chemicals found in both semi-permanent and permanent dyes are not highly toxic and are safe to use during pregnancy. In addition, only small amounts of hair dye may be absorbed by the skin, leaving little that would be able to reach the fetus.

As such, this small amount is not considered harmful to the fetus. The same is considered true while breastfeeding. Although no data is available on women receiving hair treatments while breastfeeding, it is known that little of the chemicals would actually be absorbed into the bloodstream. Therefore, the chance of them entering the milk and posing a risk to an infant would be unlikely.

However, if you are hesitant to use regular hair dyes during pregnancy, there are some safer alternatives to consider. For example, having highlights put in your hair decreases any risk as the dye is only placed on strands of your hair and does not touch the scalp.

Thus, the skin does not absorb the chemicals into the bloodstream. Another alternative is pure vegetable dyes including henna. If you are still concerned about using hair dyes during pregnancy, you may want to talk to your doctor. Some physicians recommend waiting at least until the second or third trimester, if not until after pregnancy, to dye your hair.

What Precautions Should I Take When Chemically Treating My Hair?

  • Consider waiting until the second trimesterto treat your hair.
  • Make sure the treatment is done in a well-ventilated area.
  • Do not leave the chemicals on your hair any longer than indicated by the directions.
  • Rinse your scalp thoroughly with water after treatment.
  • Wear gloves when applying treatment.
  • Carefully follow the directions on the package.
  • Do a patch test for allergic reactions before completing the process.
  • Never dye or bleach eyebrows or eyelashes. This could cause swelling or increase risk of infection in the eye area.

Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that pregnancy, in itself, can naturally change the hair’s texture. Pregnancy may also cause your hair to react differently to perming or coloring. If this is the case, you may want to wait until after pregnancy to treat your hair.

What if I Work as a Cosmetologist and Am Pregnant?

For cosmetologists, the risks during pregnancy come from the amount of exposure to hair treatment chemicals, which is affected by the number of hours worked, as well as, working conditions. One study indicates a greater risk for miscarriage in women who apply large numbers of bleaches and permanent hair dyes, work more than 40 hours per week, and/or work in salons that offer nail sculpturing services.

Proper working conditions, such as wearing protective gloves, not eating or drinking in the work area, and making sure your work area is well-ventilated are also important to limit exposure to hair treatment chemicals.

Overall, hair treatments are generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. However, you may also consider getting highlights or using pure vegetable dyes. Regardless, your safest option is to wait at least until after the first trimester, if not until after pregnancy.

12 Ways You’re Applying Your Hair Products Wrong

  1. You’re using way too much moisturizing cream, which can weigh your hair down. “Instead, squeeze a pea- to quarter-size amount of the hydrating leave-in formula, like TRESemmé Max the Volume Lightweight Moisturizing Lotion, onto one of your palms, and then rub your two hands together like you would hand cream,” TRESemmé celebrity stylist Jeanie Syfu says. “That way when you apply it, the product goes through evenly and actually coats more strands.”1
  • You only spritz your hair a few times with heat protector after you towel dry.“It’s important to spray everysection thoroughly that you plan to blow-dry, curl, or flat iron,” Syfu says. She suggests using TRESemmé Get Sleek Heat Protect Spray first, and then brushing it through once to rake it through for an even application. Also, make sure to concentrate on the face-framing pieces that get the most heat styling, so your hair doesn’t become dry and brittle from the heat.
  1. You’re trying to smooth frizz by patting curl cream onto the top layer of your hair only. But what you should really be doing to battle frizz is rubbing a quarter-size amount of curl cream, like TRESemmé Make Waves Shine Enhancing Cream, in your palm, taking random-size sections, and twisting your curls around and around your finger, so each curl gets wave-defining attention.

  1. You hold the nozzle of your hairspray too close to your hair.Spraying hairspray too close to your hair will concentrate the formula in one spot, leaving it crunchy and not touchable. Instead, Syfu suggests holding a hairspray, like TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Frizz-Free Hold Hairspray, about 12 inches away from your hair, aiming it at an angle so that you get a light mist all over.2
  2. 5. You only spray the ends of your hair with a lightweight conditioning spray, since you think that’s the driest part of your strands. “Actually, lightweight conditioners keep frizz down and promotes healthy, hydrated hair, so it’s smart to apply them on damp hair from roots to tips or, if you have fine hair, spray your hair from mid-length down to keep your volume in tact,” Syfu says. She recommends TRESemmé Renewal Hair & Scalp Conditioning Spray, which you can layer with any styling product after.

  1. You spritz salt spray on the top layer of your hair only. “To get the full effect of a salt spray, like TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray, you’ll need to work it into sections,” Syfu says. “Create a middle part and then lift sections of your hair, spritzing the spray simultaneously throughout it as the hair falls, so that you reach the strands underneath, along with the surface layer of your hair.”3
  2. You only apply mousse-like formulas to your roots. “Aiming it just at the roots can weigh hair down,” Syfu says, which is why she suggests building volume all over by parting your hair into two to three sections and combing a foam formula, like TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creating Sea Foam, from roots to tips.

  1. You apply your root-lifting formula quickly at your roots and that’s it. “To get major volume, you need to not only apply a root lifter, like TRESemmé Max the Volume Root Lifting Cream, to damp hair at your roots, but also throughout your hair to build body and give it structure,” Syfu says. “Then, blow-dry your hair after to let the heat lock in the lift.”

  1. You glob a styling cream onto your roots and work it down the hair shaft. Styling cream is typically thicker than most hair products, so you first want to be conservative with the amount that you’re using, so you don’t make your hair greasy. Syfu recommends parting your hair down the middle and pulling the two sections over each shoulder. “Then, apply a quarter-size amount (a little more if your hair is long or super thick or curly) of styling cream, like TRESemmé Make Waves Defining Cream, onto your palms, rub them together, and use your fingers as a comb to rake the product through from the ends upward,” she says. “That way you don’t get too much product at your roots, which can weigh your hair down.”4
  2. You usually wait to apply a wave/curl definer until after you’ve diffused or air-dried your hair. “Applying the product before your waves/curls are formed is key for frizz-free defined hair,” Syfu says, who suggests combing TRESemmé Make Waves Shaping Gel Cream through freshly washed wet — not damp — hair, then drying it with a diffuser or letting it air-dry.

  1. After you blow-dry your hair, you always apply a shine enhancer all over your strands. “Shiny hair is gorgeous, but you want to keep the volume you just created,” Syfu says, which is she recommends using a shine-boosting formula, like TRESemmé YouthBoost Youthful Fullness Shine Lotion, as a finishing product on the ends of your hair only (since your roots are the healthiest and shiniest part of your hair anyway, so they don’t need added shine) and to tame unruly flyaways.

  1. Your were born with amazing texture but you apply a ton of blow-dry cream to make your style hold that much longer. If you have great texture, chances are your style will stay put, but if you feel the need to apply hair product, Syfu suggests adding just a few small pumps of a blow-dry balm, like TRESemmé Get Sleek Blow Dry Balm, in the palm of your hands, rubbing them together to warm the formula, flipping your hair over, and working a light coating of the product over small sections from underneath. “Then, flip your head back over and do the same, staying away from your roots unless you need to tame flyaways.”

How to Maintenance Human Hair Wigs

  1. Please don’t color human hair wigs by yourselves. It is a very risky experiment and might have a bad result. However, if you still prefer to dye your own wigs, please keep in mind that you should never try to dye a darker color wig into a lighter color. Strongly recommend to ask the professional hairdresser to trim, shape or thin out the wig.
  2. NEVER sleep on wet hair; your hair must be completely dry before going to sleep as sleeping on a wet lace wig WILL cause hair to be very matted.
  3. Don’t soak the hand-tied human hair wigs for a long time since it will damage the knots in the wigs. When you wash the wig, please treat it very carefully just like your own hair.
  4. Choose a slightly acidic shampoo, use hair conditioner and wash in mild water.
  5. Make sure the water flows in the same direction during washing and avoid rubbing the wig heavily.
  6. Do not comb or brush the wet wig. Style the wig when it is dry.
  7. Gently blot excess water with hand or towel (do not twist or brush); shake vigorously and hang upside down to air dry (usually overnight). Do not blow dry the wig. Do not brush wig when wet. Do not wear the wig with wet cap or dry wig on head or Styrofoam, as this will stretch the cap.
  8. Using a wig brush on a wig is okay but, I suggest using a METAL WIDE TOOTH COMB.
  9. Refrain from pulling the comb forcefully through the tangles. Pulling will not only pull the hair off of the “tracks” of the wig but the pulling. Spray your wig with a light oil sheen to restore luster that was lost while getting rid of the tangles.
  10. For straight styles brush in long, even, gentle strokes. Starting at the bottom, gently comb the hair using a downward motion, with a wide-tooth comb or finger style. Gradually move up until you have combed all the hair. Never begin combing at the top or middle. It will damage and tangle the hair.
  11. It is very normal for the human hair wig to have certain amount of shedding.
  12. Please store your wig on a wig stand or mannequin head in a cool, dry location avoiding extreme temperatures, mold and dust, which will help maintain the shape, cleanliness and style of your wig.

How to Avoid Static From a Wig

Wigs, Hair extensions and hairpieces are made of mainly two types of materials sythentic and human hair. But the common problem to them all is static electricity, which is also very common to the natural hair. Uniwigs will offer you a much easy way to prevent and remove the static electricity problem.

clip_image002

Instructions

1. Wash and dry your wig properly. Use a shampoo and conditioner formulated for wigs as they will keep the fibers clean and properly maintained. Rinse your wig thoroughly to remove all excess conditioner and shampoo before allowing it to air-dry on a wig stand. Using hair dryers on a wig can promote static buildup. Be sure to remove all tangles from your wig immediately after you take it off. Tangles can cause frizz and break the fibers of your wig.

2. Spritz cool water on your wig and pat it into place if there is static present before you put it on. You may also want to spray the inside of the cap to make sure there is no static in the fibers of the cap before you place it on your scalp.

3. Rub the wig gently with a fabric softener sheet. Fabric softener sheets help keep static out of your clothes and they will do the same for a wig.

4. Spray the wig with an antistatic spray if all else fails. You can use the type designed for use on clothing. Use as little as necessary to remove the static to prevent product buildup on your wig.
